Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to release the much-anticipated ₹2,000 installment on August 2nd, 2025, from his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi.
This release marks another significant step in the government’s commitment to providing direct income support to small and marginal farming families. The scheme has already transferred over ₹3.69 lakh crore to farmers’ accounts through 19 installments since its launch in 2019. The 20th installment alone is expected to benefit approximately 9.7 crore farmers, with a total outlay of about ₹20,500 crore.

Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, recently chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparations for this momentous event. He emphasized that the disbursement should be celebrated as both a festival and a mission, highlighting the scheme’s role in ensuring Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and raising public awareness about agricultural development programs.
Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), ICAR institutes, agricultural universities, market yards, and PACS headquarters are all geared up to facilitate farmer participation in this nationwide campaign.
PM-Kisan 20th Installment: Are You Ready to Receive Your Aid?
While the news brings cheer, it’s crucial for farmers to ensure they meet the necessary criteria to receive their ₹2,000. The government has consistently stressed the importance of certain compliances to prevent fraud and ensure the benefits reach genuine beneficiaries.
Key things to check to ensure your 20th installment reaches your account:
- e-KYC Completion: This remains mandatory for all PM-Kisan registered farmers. If you haven’t completed it, do so immediately. You can perform OTP-based e-KYC on the official PM-Kisan portal (pmkisan.gov.in) or the PM-Kisan Mobile App. Alternatively, you can visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for biometric-based e-KYC or use the face authentication feature on the mobile app.
- Aadhaar-Bank Account Linkage: Your Aadhaar number must be linked to an active bank account to facilitate the Direct Benefit Transfer.
- Accurate Land Records: Ensure your land records are accurate and updated with the scheme’s data. Any discrepancies can lead to delays or non-receipt of the installment.
PM-Kisan Beneficiary Status Check
You can easily check your beneficiary status and payment details on the official PM-Kisan website (pmkisan.gov.in) under the “Farmers Corner” section. Look for “Know Your Status” or “Beneficiary Status” and enter your Aadhaar or registration number.
